About this event
A number of Seattle artists with connections to Japan had the same idea at the same time. What can we do to aid recovery efforts from the devastation of the March 11th earthquake and tsunami? The greatest asset we had to contribute was our work, and with your help, we converted that artwork into the most versatile asset - money to support relief efforts. All the artwork - paintings, drawings, calligraphy, sumi-e, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, prints, and more - was donated. No commissions were paid, all of the hard costs and labor were donated.

Thank you to the Murakami Family!
The Murakami Family (Higo Variety Store) matched $10,000 in donations. Thank you so much for your generous support
.

Prayer Flags of HOPE for JAPAN
Linda Ando delivered 80 of these handmade Prayer Flags of HOPE for Japan were made with lots of love & heart by your friends in Seattle, Washington.

Inspired by the Tibetan Prayer Flags, it is believed that the prayers will blow in the wind and bless the people, animals and the surrounding region as far as the wind can blow.

Therefore, we made these special Prayer Flags and send you blessings of HOPE, LOVE and GAMBARE Spirit during this difficult time. You are not alone, we care about YOU and will continue to support you from afar. Take good care and Gambattene!

  2. Such a good idea! I'm building an online catalogue of all of the pieces that different artists are creating to support Japan. It's on Facebook, here's the link in case you want to join the community! We need to work together! ;)
